We’re Live!

Miscellaneous

…but everything is still under construction. Bear with me!

UPDATE: The site is looking slightly less “default WordPress”, and I’ve imported all the pages from Blogger. I’ve redirected Feedburner over to the new site, here’s hoping everything goes smoothly.

UPDATE 2: I’ve done some more behind the scenes work, including redirecting all traffic from my Blogger site to here and fixing broken embedded objects. I’m still hoping to play around with the CSS, as well as change how my sidebar archive looks.

Recommended plugins, Gravatar and Feedburner FeedSmith. The feedburner plugin will redirect all of the possible feeds someone might find on your site if you haven’t already.

From the Feedburner site you can also has some short code to stick in the ‘loop’ section of your template which will track individual page views. It’ll tell you how many humans visited (as opposed to the hosting stat pages).

    Thanks for the support guys!

Here’s my to-do list for now:
-fix internal links in old posts
-fix all embedded objects, which didn’t survive the transfer
-look for a less “default” theme
    -write the “about” page
    -add “contact me” somewhere
    -modify head metatags

You can use the search to find all the posts with links to your old site. eg. search for quixotic.

    Thanks Tim.

I’m hoping I can find a nice way to organize my archives, I thought the way I had it handled in Blogger was terrific. I also miss my tag cloud, I’ll try to get that back too.
